The fleet was formed on January 14, 2010, and the name was derived from the date 01/14 (114). The original reason that the fleet was founded was to test the fleet functions in the game as part of the beta.

But it grew very quickly.

Soon, the small group of players decided to keep the fleet and build it up, intending to keep it going all the way through the beta and into the final game. We decided that the intention of the fleet was simple: to establish a group of mature, active players who wanted friends in the game and people to team up with and work together with. Our intention is to create a friendly atmosphere for new players, and to help each other out as much as we can.

Our group is comprised of people from many different time zones, so it's very likely you find someone to talk to when you log on. Most of our members are always up for a team action or a joint mission, and most are very helpful if you have any questions... as long as you're not asking where Sulu is.

We're hoping to grow our small fleet into a large group of friendly, active, and mature players. We have an active policy of helping new fleet members, especially those who are still flying starter ships - we'll help you get leveled up quickly and help you fit your first Tier 1 ship.
