I have question about set of weapons on ship and best DPS gain. I found that is probably waste of my DPS if I put same weapon into my front banks. It seemes when one weapon trigger same type of weapons getting cooldown and I can't fire it agan.
Here is question:
Anyone know which weapons share same cooldowns and what best mix of weapon is on ship. Especially when next rank ship have more mounts that question being more important.
By example when I mount two fast firing weapons in my fron banks only one weapon being actually used because second one fast will be always on cooldown and never fire.
I found that even Plasma Dual Cannon and Plasma Cannon seems sharing same weapon cooldown. I'm looking for key to use weapons not sharing same cooldown.

All weapons of the same type (beam, cannon, torpedo, et cetera) trigger a 1 second GCD across all other weapons of that same type. So when you fire one phaser, you'll have to wait one second until you can fire a different phaser. This only applies to your same facing weapons, so your if said phaser was a forward weapon, your rear phaser is uneffected.
On top of that, each weapon has it's own cooldown. So you the player have to manage the GCD and individual cooldowns to maximize your DPS output.
Do those look like there's a one second cooldown between shots? As I understand it, Beams and turrets have energy consumption to mitigate the damage they can do. Broadsides would not be viable if there were a one second cooldown.
Yes there is energy drain. But I observing CD on my weapons even my energywon't drop under 75 my max is 125 with my "Emergency Power To Wepons".
But what I'm seeing is CD on my Dual Heavy Cannons and it seems longer than 1 sec. Especially noticeable with my Plasma Cannon. I can't mount more than one Plasma Cannon on my ship, because if I do mount all three then my 3rd cannon never fire.
My Tactical Console is limited to 2 on my Escort ship. I can boost only one type of wepons like using "Plasma Infuser" so it was logical for me mount just plasma weapons. But then I hit problem with CD on my weapons and I found that I'm wasting weapons slots.
I'm afraid what I will do when my ship will have more Front weapon slots because then I will waste significant part of my DPS just on CDs.
Cannons, not, they share a CD, we can discus a long thread or make it short:
Dual Cannons : max 2 Fit, a third won`t increase or only slightly, your DPS
Heavy dual Cannons: Max 3, a fourth won`t oncrease or only slightly, your DPS
Dual cannons and dual heavy are the same DPS, the only difference is number per activation and with that damage per shot. So if you sue two cannons front, you CAN use Dual cannons, but can also use Heavy ones, if you run three cannons, 3x heavy ones are the way to go.
