Ok so what is the point of emergency power to weapons II? Why even have this skill in the game? I guess you can run a higher shield setting and still cap your weapons but seems kinda silly. They really should put some kind of warning on the skill "Warning skill isn't very useful."
Why not set your default weap power to less than 100?
It's an Engineering BO skill, not a Tac BO skill. Engineering is all about power levels and survivability, not specifically DPS. As a cruiser captain and solo player most of the time, I have my shields/weapon energy either set to 75/75, or if I'm up against a really tough fight 50 weapons, 100 shields. EPW gives a short burst of power to weapons that can help turn the tide, but doesn't really last long enough to take down a BS in one salvo... To be classed as a dps skill (like, for example, High Yield Torpedos) it'd have to provide a higher amount of damage gain than it currently does.
An escort on the other hand will generally be using weapons at 100 all the time, which with bonuses from other skills will get close to the 125 cap, if not hit it. Now, unless you as an escort captain regularly run at lower than 100 weapons, this skill is not going to be much use to you, and you'd be better off using EPS, or Engineering Team.
