I just recently purchased Star Trek Online and I'm getting an unbelievable amount of artifacts when I play the game. I know it isn't my rig; a 5850 ATI, i7-920 and 6 gigs of ram. I've been playing on this rig for quite some time and Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age, Crysis, and tons of other games work absolutely flawlessly on this computer. The state of this game, however, is unplayable at this moment. Are there any known problems like this, and any way to fix it? I fiddled with the graphics settings and still nothing. Note: Windows 7 fully updated and drivers fully updated.

the problem you have isnt artifacting as such but there have been one or two other posts with the same problem

iirc the solution was to reinstall the graphics drivers and\or update directX i would recommend doing both

Looks to be more of a driver issue than anything else. Some drivers are known to have problems with the latest hardare. thats why ATI and NVIDIA are releasing new builds and hotfixes a lot more often.
