# 1 Grouping at Different Levels
02-05-2010, 09:59 AM
What are the rules for grouping with members that are 5 or more levels apart? Is the higher level people penalized skill points? Are the lowers? Is it the same with the understanding that the higher people have higher costs?

I'm quickly out-leveling a friend who does not have as much time to play as I do. Should he be worried about grouping with me and doing his lower level missions?

Thanks.

Good question

I'm Ensign level 6 and my husband is Lieutenant level ..5 I think. But we group and it all seems okay for us.

Not sure where it would be indicated if there is a problem.

Yes. This game needs a sidekick system. Tried teaming with a friend who was LTC something. Did not go well.

The lack of this is very disappointing. Especially from Cryptic.

You're ensign level 6? How does this work? You should become a lieutenant immediately after getting out of the tutorial and spending your skill points.

They do need a Sidekick type system. Teaming with several levels above yourself will absolutely neuter your Skill Points earned from kills.

So is there a guideline for how much of a level difference you can have before it really kills advancement? 3 levels? 5?

Can only stay ensign if you don't spend points.
