Jam target does not jam target, this skill is only useful on your own, becuase if you jam a target you just make it shoot your teamate which can end up disasterous if they happen to be in already bad shape.
call it "hey shoot that guy" or "Grief the almost dead guy"
What if you are an escort or science vessel who is getting hammered by something while your cruiser teammate is sitting there plinking away with no one firing on him? Jam sensors and hope they target him instead.
The use of placate and aggro dump type powers is well established in MMO's

Or something that makes it what it is.
OR atleast call it "confuse targeting sensors"
Or best yet, make it ACTUALLY JAM the enemy.
I agree it's situational.
It's best to call out when you are using it, so you can warn others they are going to get more incoming fire.
When you use it alone one ship versus one ship, it's as useful as viral matrix. They won't be able to do anything for 10 seconds.
actually i should add that it isnt always good on your own aswell, i had a defend mission and couldnt warrant using the skill last thing i want is enemy switching targets when your suposed to be protecting.
Like i said either rename it or make it work like you think it should
I don't really see your problem. If you jam his sensor so he can't target you, of course he will find another target. So would you. Yes, it's not always the smartest thing to do, but I'm not sure we really want to idiot proof every skill.
Jam target is especially useful in PvP. Have a nasty BoP or escort in your side? Jam him and be rid of him while you finish your work with your real target.

Yeah like i said im fine with the skill, but im saying it shouldnt be called jam target, CAUSE YOUR NOT JAMMING IT!!, if you were jamming it, it wouldnt be able to target ANYTHING.
I dunno maybee its just from years of EVE that i think this way
