# 1 CONTEST: For DDE Key (Closed)
02-08-2010, 12:25 PM
UPDATE: A WINNER HAS BEEN DETERMINED.

I inadvertently purchased two copies of the DDE (Pre-Order). Since you can only use one retail key of the same companies per account, I have an extra key. The pre-order key was used, but the retail key is unused.

I have sent PMs to several Cryptic people asking for help with this, but never got a response one way or the other and therefore am not even sure if I can do this, but will do it anyways.

To qualify for the key you have to answer two questions:

1. Who said, "Time is the fire in which we burn."

2. What was the title of the work in which the above sentence was used?

First person to post the correct answer to BOTH questions will get the key.

Good Luck.

Cygnus-Dax got it right and posted first. I honestly thought the first post would be in reference to ST Generations.

For those who might feel this information is incorrect here are my references:

This is the actual poem:

This is the book in which the poem was published in back in 1967.

If you click on the "Click to Look Inside" link, you'll find the list of contents and you'll find the poem listed there.

Thanks for playing...Cygnus check your PMs.

True, but alot of ST fans could have defaulted to the referenece from ST Generations.

Of course, just because he wrote it wouldn't have meant he was the first to say it...so there are several possibilities that one could have come up with an answer.

Thanks, too kind, but I feel bad taking it (I already got DDE).

I would rather it go to someone else who has yet to get hold of the game

I've already sent the info to you. If you know someone who would like to play but couldn't buy the game, then feel free passing it on to them.

The issue with doing this on the forums is that no one here is without the game, since the forums are onyl for people with active game accounts. Those without active game accounts can only view the general information areas like tech support and stuff. So I figured whoever won, might know someone who wanted to play, but missed out on the pre-order or the game all together for whatever reason.

What you do with the key now is up to you.
