Teams:
Federation: 3 cruisers, 1 science vessel, 1 escort
Klingons: 5 T2 Bird of Preys

The Klingon team was cloaked for nearly 15 minutes initially. We tried flying around in zig-zagging patterns with sensor sweeps etc but couldn't detect them. Then they finally attacked, took out 1 escort in the blink of an eye, then cloaked again.
We waited another 10 minutes.

The Klingon team attacked again, this time they took out the science vessel and the escort, while we managed to destroy one bird of prey before the entire team cloaked again.

We waited another 10 minutes

The Klingon team attacked again this time from way above our position so we couldn't allign torpedo's in time. Again they took out 1 ship, then decloaked.

We waited another 10 minutes.

This continued for over one and a half hour until the match ended with a score something like 15 - 8 for the Kingons. Although sniping one ship at a time was sound tactical play from the Klingons and I'm sure they had a great time, the over the top lengthy pauses between the attacks made it mind blowingly boring and frustrating for the Federation team.

Obviously for the betterment of the game, this needs to be changed. The easiest (and imo best) solution would be a timer on the matches, and if the match objective isn't reached before the time runs out it results in a draw even if 1 side has more points than the other (to prevent the Klingons from sniping 1 ship then all cloaking for 15 minutes or however long the match lasts to claim a "win").
Another possible solution would be a slight nerf to cloak, by making it very slowly drain weapons power when active. That way staying cloaked for an over the top amount of time would result in lesser combat effectiveness for a short while after decloaking.

Why would you even stay in there for that? Just exit and move on.

Agreed that there really needs to be a match timer for all PvP matches. I think 10-15 minutes would be reasonable.

Well, while the 10 min's between strikes seems a bit excessive...the hit & run tactic sounds rather well done. However, considering the amount of time it took it sounds like a net loss for everyone, Klingons included.

I blame the crappity matches.

For the sake of imperative, the match should be something like "kill 15 feds before federation reinforcements arrive', or something.

Because if you stay until the end, you can feel justified when you come to the forums to post about your horrible experience that could have been avoided.

sounds like they used their time wise and flat out beat you. if you were bored you should have left.

match timer would easily be abused. if you're losing, what incentive is there to finish the match, vindictive players would just stay cloaked and settle for a draw

And remove any chance of tactical game play? Skill , you lack it.

I agree, there ought to be a timer on pvp matches. Waiting 10 minutes to gank someone over and over does not equal skill.
