If you insist on not hunting the cloakers down , you deserve the deaths.

match timer would easily be abused. if you're losing, what incentive is there to finish the match, vindictive players would just stay cloaked and settle for a draw
Yes....

God forbid Klingons actually be forced to play for more than 30 seconds before they afkloak for 10 minutes.

not every team can make fedballs genius. I'd like to see you make a successful pug klingon side with no voice chat available in game, planning an attack via typing chat takes time. these guys should be given hero status

The problem is with the match layout. There's really no reason I can think of why Fed's would just sit around waiting to be attacked unless it was trying to get a convoy through or defend some sort of mission. In both cases there would be some sort of timer or secondary activity going on that if it succeeded then the Feds would win. I get that the Klingongs are the attackers and Fed's are the defenders in the scenario but WHAT ARE THEY ATTACKING/DEFENDING? And before anyone attributes me to be a whiny Fed, I'm a Klingon player through-and-through.

Well right now the Klingons cloaks are perfect. In the movies they "shimmered" show as blimps on the map. why not have cloaks do that? The Klingons would still have a cloak. Just not a perfect one.

Far from perfect , sci vessels can spot them and there are a multitude of skills to decloak them.

Greetings,

That might very well have been me commanding the Klingon wing. Everything you described was tactically sound. I salute that wing if it wasn't the one I was commanding.

Since there is no game timer I am sure you are exaggerating by a factor of 100 or 150%.

I simply try to make your FEEL like you have been playing forever.

They will not put limits on pvp matches, nor will they nerf the cloak (which is already nerfed to hell). What needs to be done is for people who think that the Fed Ball is a good idea to find a tactical corpus that actually DOES work.
Also, never ever go into battle without a pre-made team on comms.

Yours in service to excellence Plasma,
Star*Dagger

P.S. *Laughs at the irony that he is writing a tactical manual dealing with this exact situation"

P.P.S. Overheard at Star*Dagger's signing to BoK
"If I join ye will I get to kill Engl.. uh Feds!??" LOL

But using a timer to force them to suicide charge the fedball does equal skill? I'm sorry, but it sounds like they used a great deal of skill and tactics, much better than most Klingon groups I've been in that uncloak and then stick around and die. Kill one target and pull a fade is exactly what a pack of BoP should do.

The claim that it needs to be changed because it's not fun for the Federation players is kind of funny... do the Federation players think that just charging the Fedball and dying is fun for the Klingons?

Regardless of the merits of the use of cloak and hit&run tactics, the Fed's will be getting FvF soon and I seriously expect these complaints will die down. Then when they queue for KvF, they will know they are the defenders in the scenario against a party of raiders. They will be able to queue for FvF if they don't want to or can't handle that scenario layout.

There is no reliable way to detect cloaked ships beyond 5km. You can't go and randomly hit charged particle burst all over the map and expect to hit something. This isn't a game of Battleship, where you can fire blindly until you hit something, the enemy moves around.

Worse, it is entirely and completely impractical for Feds to hunt cloaked Klingons outside of that very short window immediately after a Klingon ship has cloaked so you know the general area they are in. And that window is only really exploitable by a science captain or someone with charged particle burst, a power that is only useful for this explicit purpose. And only if the Klingon didn't speed away with extra speed from a battery or power that makes catching them very unlikely.

I try this every match I start in, I roam around the Fedball in my science ship and try to hit cloaked Klingons with charged particle burst. I have never once gotten an early detection, even though they are surely there waiting, watching. Klingons know to stay beyond 5km. And if I can't hit them when I know they are nearby, how the heck is anyone supposed to get them when they have no idea where they are?
