With all things, I'm sure some of you will disagree with this list, but I DARE some of the Enterprise nay-sayers to re-watch the show, and to skip specific episodes. As far as I'm concerned seasons 3-4 of Enterprise are gold and need to be completely watched but I agree that seasons 1-2 leave a lot to be desired and are part of the reason the show died, despite the amazing final 2 seasons. Anyway, this is the challenge - watch the show in THIS order and then post here your feelings. Trust me, it won't take forever because I'll be skipping a lot of episodes *grin*
I'm glad to see that theres someone else out there who loved the Xindi Arc. It reminds me of BSG, how each season had its own encompassing story. Plus, I just liked the over all feel of the show. Because it was only so far into our own future, it truly made you feel like the technology was with in our grasp. It was almost like watching a steam-punk version of Star Trek.
"Shuttle Pod 1" is up there with "And the children shall lead" and every episode of Voyager's first three seasons as being the worst Star Trek of all time. Malcom Reid was the most cringe worthy, weak willed Starfleet officer of all time.
It's Xindi, and it's one of the best seasons of Star Trek so I think they knew exactly what they were thinking...
I think youre falling into the fault of trying to convince everyone to agree with you. I might be wrong, but its looking that way to me.
You are however, in the minority from my experince. Everytime I have brought up Enterprise, those who chimed in say that Ent would have been a great series had they scraped the whole temporal war thing...
Not saying youre wrong or youre stupid, you seem to be posting your opinion about the show, so I was posting mine.
I loved the series, I love Bakula, and mirror-T'Pol and regular Hoshi were my two favourites... some of the temporal war episodes were good, but the story arc as a whole needs a serious rework.
The writers did drop the ball somewhat on enterprise... Its really a shame that they cancelled it, it had good potential. There were some great episodes and some bad ones. At least we'd have something to watch!
Time travelling so early in the startrek universe, was a bad choice. It killed alot of fan support early for the series.
If time travel happens at all, it happens/happened early, late, and everywhere in between.
I enjoyed season one and two, though (as with any Trek) THERE WERE DUDS.
As far as the Xindi arc, as I first watched the show, I found season 3 to be plodding, and frustrating. A couple of years later on it is really quite good. I now think having a full week between episodes simply didn't work for this story.
Season four, however, kicked all manner of posterior! That was some fun!!!!
