How do you use a buff on just yourself when it can be used on yourself or your teammate. For example I was on a team and every time I tried to use EPS transfer or engineering team I would automatically target a team member and use it on him even when I was targeting an enemy (in fact my target would change to the member I was buffing). However, when I was targeting nothing the buff would work on me just fine. Thanks in advance for the help.

You have a enemy as target:
The enemy is targeting you: the buff going to your ship
The enemy is targeting your friend: you buff your friend

You target nothing: the buff goes to you

You target your friend: the buff goes to your friend

i didn't know that if the enemy is targeting a friend, that buff goes to the friend...no wonder some of my stuff isn't working as intended lol

There is an option you can turn off called Assisted Targeting or Targeting Assistance. Mouse over a few of them and read the descriptions. I've gotten used to it being like this, but if you don't want to deal with it then you can turn the option off and (I assume) it will always target you unless you're targeting an ally.
