# 1 Viral Matrix

Viral matrix really needs to be addressed, Currently the only thing removes viral matrix once its on you is attack pattern omega, unless someone else happends to put science team on you. You cannot use science team to get out of it because your whole bar is grey, even if you put science team on your ship b4 viral matrix goes off, it still doesn't stop it. So unless your in an escort you cannot get it off yourself.

Viral Matrix is fine. Play as a team and it shouldn't be that much of an issue, even if Science Team bugs out and doesn't remove it.

Last night i got 4 times Viraled, and my friend used Science team on me every time,

BUT

it worked 3 times, and one time it didnt. When i wasnt freed i yelled in speech soft that WTF FREE ME NAU, and he said he mistakenly pushed space before using Science team on me .... Thus meaning he shooted an enemy ship with his guns and used Science team on himself.

GG

I assume the bugged Science team reports are just coz of that or some confuse effect from the enemy side that your target switches and then you just drool klik your talents. (note... klik).

Uhhh wut? It's fine if science team bugs out? Ya, real consolation to the guy that just died.

Anywho, Attack Pattern Omega is a nice counter as well. Pity it's on a 1 min timer. It's the only way to remove VM yourself if you're already hit by it.

Nah, I've had it happen in PvE, too. Several times I went 1v1 with a Romulan Warbird and used Science Team on myself while the VM Probe was in flight, but I still got held for the full duration; other times Science Team worked just fine.

Let me introduce you to a concept known as "teamwork."

"Oh no, my teammate just got frozen with VM, I should Science Team him! <uses the ability, but it bugs out> Drat, he's still frozen! Well, at least he gets the resist buff and shield boost. Now I guess I'll need to use Hazard Emitters, Extend Shields, or Engineering Team (after the shared CD is over) on him. Along with that, it would be a good idea to lock out, or at least weaken, some of his attackers with my own Viral Matrix, and/or Subnucleonic Beam, and/or Target Weapons Subsystem, and/or Tractor Beam when they're at an unfavorable angle, and/or Tyken's Rift, etc..."

Would your team be in a better position if Science Team didn't bug? Yes.
Is Viral Matrix an "I win" button like some people claim? No.
Is Viral Matrix unmanageable? Absolutely not (as long as your team isn't worthless - if it is, you have bigger problems than Viral Matrix to deal with).

It could be that a lower ranked Science team 1 will not remove a Viral Matrix 3.

APO isnt really that great a counter either if im against an escort I hit VM 1 and wait to see if they guy is smart enough to have APO, once he fires APO I cloak and wait for the hold near immunity recourse to wear off then come out of cloak and hit them with VM II. APO is still on cooldown for the target and you have about 15 seconds to wipe him out before he gets APO back again.

Lame tactic, lame game mechanic /blame devs.

Same here. I don't think Science Team is guaranteed to immediately remove debuffs on you. It's a pulse on each tick that has a certain chance. Granted a moderate-high chance, but still has a chance to fail on each pulse. I've had it remove VM so fast, that I didn't even get the pink clouds on me when it hit me. And I've had it hold me for 8-10 seconds before it either ran out or got removed. It's RNG. Not a big deal. There's other, more guaranteed ways to avoid taking dmg in a VM.
