Is there any way to keep BOffas from automaticilly ising any food item i put on them for future use?

Boffs will use food items nearly immediately. They are not too bad with other items, but with food, they simply use it up.

Don't give them food. Keep it for yourself and let them deal with their hunger on their own time.

Not at the moment. I suspect it's a bug, and as such will be fixed at some point.

Agreed, you should totally put all your food in your bank along with a small tribble, it'll take excellent care of that food for you!

i give each of my Boffs a tribble and sometimes some small hypos. nothing more cuz they use it up. unless i am running low on inventory and do not want to go back to the bank...

Known bug. It was even mentioned in a dev interview linked to by Massively. I just noticed it for the first time yesterday.

Didn't you hear? There was a massive virus outbreak in the Alpha Quadrant in 2032. The only way to stop it from wiping out all sapient life was genetic manipulation. They inserted genetic material from the only known species immune to the dread disease: the tribble.

So yeah, all your BOs are part tribble, so really.... they just can't help it!
