Thanks everyone for the good suggestions!

I like the idea of RSP / scramble sensors on our own bait. That, at the very least, would have kind of "thrown them off their game", so to speak, and forced them to react more to us. I got the impression that most things we threw at them were anticipated, such that we weren't really surprising them.

As to telling if they were differently equipped, is there any easier way to do that than just raw observation and filtering the combat spam? Even after the first wipe, we were kind of confused at to their specific capabilities (i.e. whom could do what), but a lot of that was likely due to surprise (on our part) and general newness (same).

Am I really the only person who never gets any cooperative teammates? I nearly all my matches I get creamed because some jerk decloaks too soon or nobody actually attacks the specific target we pick.

@Adrian-Thorn:

It depends: without a Fleet or a steady group of friends, it is kind of a crapshoot, I admit. Usually you go through a few matches, and if all you're getting is folks that don't wish to work together, you keep going until you find one that does, then you team up and go through several more matches together.

In this case, this was essentially a PUG that had fought together through 3-4 matches before we encountered the FWAP (Feds With A Plan).

I'd like to think that the randomness of play in Tier 2 is largely a result of the way Tier 1 worked, in which no one ever really NEEDED to team up or work together, really. I'd like to think that there's less of that by Tier 3 and Tier 4.

Oh, and if that is NOT the case, please leave me with my illusions until I get there. :p

The T2 cruiser is sadface. I have no idea why klingons complained about not having one. The only reason everyone plays one is it's the "enterprise". I'm pretty sure it's just straight worse than the escort and science ship for PvP in T2.

You got beat by a team-focused pvp build that outlevelled you while in a PUG. Not much mystery.

T2 cruiser for Feds is the only ship capable of RSP or Extend Shields, thus making it leagues better than the escort or the science ship.

Okay . . . but is there something specific that leads you to say "pretty sure it's just straight worse than the escort and science ship for PvP in T2"?

I admit that I've not that many battles at T2, but Escorts never seemed to give us pause (sure they can dish it out, but can they take it?), and Science ships are few and far between (and scream "Kill me first!").

With the Crusiers ability to tank more than T2 klingon ships its definitely better than the Sci/esorts. It can out last any of the other fed ships. Plus the escorts are horrible. I mean if one opens up on me, I go straight at it, because I no I'll take it out before he takes me out. Science ships usely dont no how to play there role. I mean Ive seenem with Torp volley and energy syphon. Thats just horrible. Crusiers generally know what there doing...for the most part.

Raptors are like Fed escorts, they will be the first to be targeted and the first today the downside is that the Klink Tactical Officer cannot boost his damage abiltiies as high as the Fed counterpart thus making Raptor the worst ship in the game.

Finally, playing bait and combat cloaking will not help against a crosshealing team. The ONLY way to beat a crosshealing team is to do a lot of crosshealing and do it better then the opponent.

RSP in tier 2? Seriously? So what, you stay cloaked the other two minutes?

I guarantee you, there are far more skills that are useful besides RSP. It is overrated, especially at tier 2. In fact if you want to do cross healing, you'd be better served with a team full of BOPs with extend shields than RSP.

And you seriously underestimate the Raptor.

Guess what genius, the Extend Shields, I mentioned and they still require BoP. What is raptor getting? Rapid cannon fire?

The RSP is strictly used to make the bait survive longer, and it works.

It's there to give the KDF time to get a cruiser down while they hit the guy who is immune
