# 1 Fed on Klingon side?
02-24-2010, 04:03 AM
Was just doing the Borg hunt PvPvE mission, there was this guy in what looked like a Fleet Escort, even had his ship name U.S.S. whatever but every time he respawned he was on the klingon side, and he seemed to be able to cloak (wtf?) and somehow speed away from me during combat and then go to full impulse. what abilities could that be? even with evasive manouvers I couldn't catch him, he just shot away like crazy when I was about to kill him and then disappeared / full impulse away.

it was as if he was in a klingon ship but it looked like a federation ship, it moved around so fast and I don't know how else to explain him disappearing and shooting away like that

some kind of bug/glitch being abused here?

Weird, I thought half of the Klingon faction WERE Feds. I mean, everytime I'm in a KvK space PvP match the score shows the points for Klingons and the points for Federation. Half of our mission texts use Federation references rather than Klingon, which I figured was to appease the Klingon Federation people.

It happens. During a ground PvP match I had a Kling player convert to the Fed side! He even got double credit in the end thanks to the bug.

Which Borg hunt were you doing? There's 2 of them, 1 in the home sector block where Qo'noS is and one in the neutral zone sector block where Ganalda (sp) and K7 stations are. the first is the KvK version the 2nd is the FvK version and in both everyone spawns at the same spawn point, which is just poor coding (possibly using the fleet action code instead of pvp code).

If timed right he could have hit MES then Full Impulse before getting flagged as in combat.

There is a strong possiblity that the devs are playing around with a Defiant-cloak-type ship and were using you as a tester.

I've seen people doing impossible stuff in ground combat that HAVE to be devs.

In ground PvP last night, one of the Feds suddenly switched to our side about the same time I was bringing my dual phasers to bear on her. I tried firing at her for 30 seconds before I realized what happened.

While I've never encountered this in ground PvP, I've seen it happen a LOT in the borg hunt -- generally happens right after the map resets. During the times that I've seen it in the borg hunt, however, it generally fixed itself after being killed by other feds

It's an old bug with the Borg hunt, where a Federation ends up on the Klingon side. And rare occasions, a Klingon on the Federation team.

But because they are on the opposite team doesn't mean they are on their side, because if the Klingons win, those Federation don't get credit for the win, and same for Klingons on the Federation side that win.
