1. Jam Sensor.
2. Faceroll buffs (alpha, omega, fire on my mark, tactical team, rapid fire/beam overload, high yield).
3. Faceroll space bar.

2. Spam Emergency power to shields, Engineering Team, Miracle Worker. Hull dmg inevitabe, but cruisers are better at hull tanking anyway.
On science/sci ship
1. Faceroll space bar
1a. Debuff (rift, drain power, target subsystems,)
2. Spam Science team, emergency power to shields, hazard emitters. Hull dmg inevitable, but you should have enough shield regen to offset any real hull dmg.
The real point is there is a lot of abilities out there to kill him and keep yourself from been killed. If death is recurring, then maybe its time to reconsider BO skills and ship gear.
I did this mission with a tier 4 science vessel and found it fun.
Challenging but most certainly not impossible.
Molly died in about 3 minutes.
I just had to concentrate on killing the shields on one side and than the thing was toast.
I only learned that it's somehow possible to have problems with that ship
from this topic.
