I've been having major problems, pretty much since launch. Some sessions are fine. Others find me suffering from horrible lag, crazy rubberbanding so bad it's like that old Herbie Hancock video from the 80s and numerous disconnects. To the point that at times the game is pretty much unplayable.

Here's the info:
Windows Firewall is OFF.
Computer is connected through a Cisco Etherfast Cable/DSL router model #BEFSR41
ISP is Embarq hi-speed internet.
Connection test done within the hour showed 3.1 Mb down/640kb up speed
Ran nettest utility with the following results
Ping 120.0 msec
Port 80: 296 kb/sec 11kb/sec 313kb/sec 500
Port: 80: 129 kb/sec 8kb/sec 154kb/sec 500

Port 80: 296 kb/sec 11kb/sec 313kb/sec 500
Idle NIC bandwidth Send: 0kb/sec Recv: 0kb/sec

Logging into WoW and running around produces no problems at all. I can stream audio/video with no network/computer problems at all. The only place I'm having any troubles is with the STO servers.

Anyone got any brilliant ideas?

Are you downloading music or torrenting anything at the sametime? I rubber band when I do those and play the game. :p

seriously though maybe upgrade your nic...couldnt possible see why its only happening in STO when most people dont have this issue.

No torrents or downloads going on while playing. Heck, no other windows open while playing.

I logged back on after the initial post. Ran a patrol mission through one system and everything fine, no problems at all. Exit to sector space to head over to the next system and here we go; can't enter the system, don't even get the prompt to do so. Chop the throttle to zero, but I'm still flying around at warp 9. Then it rubberbands like crazy again. At that point I logged and said to heck with it.

If you are having this issue in a variety of locations, this is probably an issue for the PC & Technical Support forum. They can help you check for any potential connection or system issues that might be causing this. You can also submit a Tech Support Ticket.

Good luck!

No ideas, but I've been suffering the exact same problem for weeks now. Only get it in STO or champions. Been driving me up the wall.
