I love it when the "carebear" tag comes out. These are the people who 5-man 25-man heroics, the people who solo Legendary on any Halo with only a pistol, the people who hit level cap before the servers have finished booting up for the first time... They also tend to be the most elitist and the biggest whiners.
I haven't tried the STF yet, but you know what? Since I pay for this game too (and it's "t-o-o" by the way), maybe I'm one of those who wants a relaxed game. Maybe I'm one of those who doesn't think this game needs to be 99% about combat.
Maybe... I'm a "carebear"
Now while I'm not one, and I am in favor of a difficulty slider (loved the way it worked in CoH), the hardest part of any topic like this is trying to decide if the OP is just a raving loon or if they are just trying to defend a valid opinion. The way a poster is viewed on the forum can have an effect on that, but it usually comes down to how they present their argument, the way they choose to phrase things, and the stance they take towards the community at large.
As soon as the word "carebear" came out, valid argument or not, I lost all respect for the OP. This was further damaged by the following quote:

The "trend" actually seems to be people trying to use a statement like this to add emphasis to their point or to make them look cool for bashing on a group that usually can't defend themselves. Way more adults play P2P MMOs than "little kids" do, but sometimes, you have to wonder if some of the adults aren't actually the "little kids"...
