I get aussi's all the time so confused if they need to tip or not. Some of them are down right rude about it even if I'm not the one bringing it up. I'm always trying to explain to them that some people do but it's up to you. It's a free country.

How did the culture swing that way down there? Don't you appreciate service workers?

I was talking to an American that I work with and he explained to me that service workers down here are paid better then their American counterparts

I am planning a trip to the US, I dig that you guys tip up there and being in your country(when I get there) I probaly will but it's not a custom that we are not used to

I live in Canada. I'm not sure what a typical american min wage is. Here in BC it's $8 CAD.

To OP: sorry to derail your birthday thread, but I have a peeve regarding people getting all high about their birthdays day's ahead of the event. You'll get a happy birthday from me day of if I see you then. None until though.

I think it's something like $7.15 or $7.25 here in the states. Might be more.

I worked at a Pub/Restaurant 4 years ago and was on A$23 an hour

Todays exchange rate has it $20.71US
