Starting thread to discuss if there are any effects of Uploading Virus into Maintenance Terminals in the final boss room. All I figured out is it puts a timer (Progress...) on the terminal that once runs out, recovers shield for that particular terminal.

So that means Uploading Virus is a negative buff, but I dont understand why we have that possibility then. If someone recognized any positive effect of Virus Uploading, write here please.

Have'nt been on since todays patch that is ment to fix this, but before then the Virus did nothing but add the progress bar you mentioned. From what I understand, they fixed this issue on the tribble test server and added the fix to todays patch. If you already new this and was asking about after the patch then I apologise for not understanding your question.

What is ment to happen now is uploading the virus to all four corner nodes will bring the shield around the center genertor down. Don't know if the timer to re-shield the corner nods is automatic and hidden or if it is only when the progress bar appears on upload. If it's the latter then waiting till all four nodes are unshielded may be the way to go. That said, you'd still have borg re-spawns to deal with if your taking too long anyway so just uploading the virus as you go along could also have merit.

Good question Dogahma... if the virus upload its going to be automatic then its going to be even more hard now, 4 minutes to jump to box, coordinate to diactive the other 3 shields, and that, with the borgs that you need to kill.
Now, if is not automatic, you can low the 4 small shields, and then upload the virus, just a extra work (and prey no one get dawn in acid).

PS: i complet the mission 3 times, so i really like the mission like its now, i could live with the second option, but the first one i dont knew..

The patch today means if you do not upload the virus right after you drop the shield around the corner node the sheild goes back up.

The virus also means you must drop all 4 corners before the timer runs out or it resets the shields.

I guess thats why we are 5 of us.
3 low the small shield and the others 2 go aheed and kill the Borg on the next box. The only problem are going to be the Borgs of the center... this could be intresting.
