To be honest, you're probably better off asking a counselor that deals with these types of things. There are agencies and groups that will help him get a job they feel he matches up with well and will even work along side him for awhile to train.

Companies like this type of thing because they're essentially getting two employees for a little while, but only paying for 1.5. Other than that suggestion, I've no other input...

...although...the part about him realizing a dvd was a copy because it's an octave higher...an octave difference is pretty noticeable, so I'm assuming you meant something else there.
