So what is the real difference suppost to be in the B.O. colours when you receive them.
There is the common white , uncommon green, rare blue, and very rare purple.
Once you train up a B.O., what influence will there colour rating have on their abilities.

Very rare/purple BOff's have two "superior" traits, and usually a rare commander rank power. Although, some are truely rare while other are fairly common among the purple BOff's.

I think the color is for the traits only as I have had a green BO and a blue BO start with 2 level III skills and a purple BO with only 1.

when he says 2 level III skills, he means 2 level III skills in space
ie tac officer with cannon rapid fire III and torpedo high yield III.

The purple ones are how you can get things like Attack Pattern Omega III and such I believe

'White' will have 2 Basic Traits, the rest Standard,
'Green' will have 1 Basic Traits, the rest Standard,
'Blue' will have 1 Superior Traits, the rest Standard
'Purple' will have 2 Superior Traits, and the rest standard...

Currently, almost all of the 'Traits' are Ground 'Traits' with 'Space' Traits being very rare. The Dev's have mentioned that this might change in the future...

Also 'Blue' and 'Purple' have a higher chance of having 'Untrainable' Commander skills
