My experience was as a Klingon with a Fed escort doing the damage.

Just now in FvF PvP died many times will FULL SHIELDS. The times that my shields did go down I was dead almost instantly.

I did notice that the escort that toasted me was using anti-proton cannons. There's no defense against it. RSP does nothing against cannons, science team 3 boosts your shields but the damage passes right through. Even the HP's gained by skill boosted Engineering team are gone within the first second and it's if you never even used it.

I understand we want the damage in the RA rank against the Borg, but give players a skill to offset the damage. It was better BEFORE the patch.

RSP does absorb cannons, as well as all other energy weapons. Learn the game before spewing nonsense.

The massive damage numbers elsewhere in this thread are likely a bug. The numerous other complaints of people dying despite being 'at full shields' are most likely dying from major kinetic damage sources on an unshielded facing (due to any number of effects: Tyken's Rift, Target Subsystem:Shields, etc).

Incidentally, you have skills to offset the damage, you just can't expect to use only 1. Escort captains are going to alpha you with a half dozen offensive buffs running: AP:Alpha / Omega, Emergency Power to Weapons, Rapid Fire, class-specific buffs like Fire on My Mark and Go Down Fighting, etc. The combined effect of all these buffs is far too strong for any single defensive ability other than a special case thing like RSP to protect you. Learn to stack resistances.

For a simple example, I can stack Science Team 2, Rotate Shield Frequency, and Emergency Power to Shields 3 for a combined shield resistance modifier of 81%. I don't care what you're shooting at me, you're not breaking through a 9k Covariant facing taking 19% normal damage no matter how many buffs you run.

Point is, defensive abilities can be stacked in the same way as offensive abilities; and now, for the first time, good players have enough offensive teeth to make that a necessity even in 1v1 encounters.

funny thing is, Even with all defensive buffs running its possible to accidently supershot someone.

Came accros some huge dmg today when doing my Klingon daily's.

I was hit from behind through full shields (mk x blue) with about 75% hull remaining and yes it was a one shot kill.

Didnt think anyone was cheating just thought it was a bug that got through from tribble.

Funny thing was at the end of the match nobody had scored over 200k dmg so the game server had not registered the hit.

I did submit a ticket at the time though just to make sure.
