The series doesn't start getting good until the fifth book! Wizard and Glass is pretty good, though... But still, if you can find the graphic novels, pick 'em up. Beautiful artwork, and they help fill in the backstory quite a bit.

King books doesn't need pictures, the words create them just fine. My favorite so far was the drawing of the three. but of all king books..

1. IT
2. The Shining
3. Needful Things
4. Salem's Lot
5. Drawing of the Three

Honorable mention: Four Seasons (Stand By Me and The Langoliers were mini stories in this 4 part book)

Oh, I loved Four Seasons. Hmm... Which one had Everything's Eventual? I have to say, that's probably my favorite of his short stories. His new book, The Cell, is pretty good too.

Was this book written before or after King experimented with drugs?. I'm hoping before because when I read the idea for the story behind dark tower I thought it was a great idea for a story

I didn't cry, but I did whimper like the pathetic fanboy I am. :p

No book, movie or television show has actually made me cry. A few have come close. Stephen King's new book, The Cell, probably came the closest. That book is probably one of the darkest he's ever written.
