I really hate these aide missions. None of the aide items drop for me and have into buy them is costing me out the backside. I'm going broke.

Yeah, I thing the "Aid the Planet" are bugged, I have yet to be able to finish one of them.

Why do you have to buy the components at inflated costs? Just find a commodity broker like the trade ships in the Sirius Sector Block and purchase what you need. I've done many of these missions and the best part is I did not have to go back to grab the supplies. If you purchase everything you think you will need and keep them in your bank, when you run into a planet that says "I need 10 medical supplies", you can instantly say "OK, have them." No need to leave, mission done!

I'd say to annoy the players. Can't think of anything else.

When you get 4 or 5 of these in a row and your just starting the game it will break your bank with the brokers/ trade ships.

It didn't break my bank when I started out. The only time I had credit issues was with those complicated commodities like self-sealing stem bolts are industrial replicators. But I didn't run into those until DS9.

That one mission is based on an episode of DS9. It almost made it less frustrating. Almost. lol.

It wasn't just that episode, after that one, some of the aid the planet missions actually asked for the complicated stuff that you needed 2 or 3 parts to build one.

Glad I dropped that DS9 mission. I completed exactly 1 "Aid the Planet" mission and ignore them now. What were they thinking? Oh, as a Klingon I occasionally get a drop of some Federation aid item. Fat lot of good that does.

I agree, these missions are the opposite of fun. If there were ships in the system that you could kill (maybe they stole the supplies that the planet is looking for? get creative) that drop enough of the item you need, I would have no problem with it. But as it is now, I feel like these missions are only a time and money sink, as all you do is just warp out, buy whatever you need, come back, and then turn in the quest.
