Good point, evilhippo
"I PvP on both sides and reason most Feds suck is that they level via PvE whereas most Klingons level via PvP, so by the time they reach BG (that's admiral to you) Klingon players have fought in literally hundreds of matches and have learned the importance of team work."

I get smoke often because the FED not paying attention tot he map or their team and we have smoked the Klingon with a good Fed team.

I would like to see a STO VOIP.

Much to my annoyance, the main reason why I was looking forward to Federation pvp (good and interesting fights with other people who enjoy pvp, rather than Klingon teams consisting of mainly FBP and VM exploiting players with a mentallity that befits a faction that uses PvP as a forced levelling system rather than something you do for the fun of it) has become invalid as suddenly the same Federation players that were screaming murder over FBP being an unfair advantage to the klingons have now all found it necessary to spec for stacked FBP and VM to gain the maximal advantage, making FvF almost as unenjoyable as FvK.

Perhaps now you realise that there never was any difference in the use of given abilities by both sides... and the reason experienced Fed teams often win against the Klingons is... they used FBP, Sub Nuc and VM against the Klingon players.

Trust me, from the Klingon side the Feds are the true 'science spammers' whereas the Klingons are the dps'ers for the most part. I play both sides.

Going to have to agree w/ most of the above..
1. Being deaf does NOT disclude you from being in a fleet, good or otherwise
2. Being deaf does NOT put you a disadvantage in pvp
3. Use target of target function for kill targets
4. Have the leader use the team macro, to name targets as a backup
5. Use lots of macros, those that say, " ST needed " or " ES is out " or whatever

As for your experience in getting cornholed in pvp...
1. Fedbears tend to be idiots in pvp, due to the following:
a) Only dabble in PvP
b) Bad specs/gear/etc
c) Usually solo (in pvp and pve)
d) Couldn't follow directions to save thief life
e) Refuse to be grouped up, and even if on a team, don't act like it
f) Split fire
g) Don't know how take any tactic/strat/etc to full potential, other than fedball zerg
h) Don't follow objects, MUST BE TOP DMG!! PEW PEW PEW!!! I'M AWESOME!!

2. See #!
3. Too busy blaming X/Y/Z as OP or some such crap, instead of learning how deal with things, or even understanding the real reasons, etc of how it truly is.
Ex. BoP - IS CRAP AS SCIENCE!!!!
1. Lacks TSS1
2. Lacks +30% shields
3. Lacks 1x Sci console
4. Has no staying power, unless it gives up something else. (DPS/Sci)
5. Always going to have 1 less BO than everyone else

Most of the BoP's seen, in PvP are dps varients, I've seen little, if any support ones. KDF seems to leave that role to the BC/Carrier. That said, I've only seen 1x Raptor in PvP @ RA5 in the last 2 weeks.

What's really going on, is that KDF is forced to PvP, because thier PvE is on timers, of up to 1x a day.
So we either log on, do a few missions, and log off, or we do PvP. Those that PvP, at least to 20-50 matches per tier. (that's 100-250 matches total by RA5)
They are forced to learn how to deal with the Feds, both in terms of what the OpFor is using mostly, but also how to counter it, and exploit weaknesses in what's being faced.

Ex. No Fed science ship in the OpFor, no worry of VM, or other Sci stuff. No cruisers, well that means no tanks, and probably no "support" stuff like extend shields either. All of these things change the battlefield, not only in what's possible from the OpFor, but what the KDF is able to exploit because of it.

Lastly, this isn't real ground combat, where no hearing is a detriment. It's a game, and space combat. All you need is a brain, giving you ability to learn, adapt, etc. If they used what's between their ears, for more than a windtunnel, you'd probably find PuG PvP a more enjoyable experience.

NOTE: the above mostly goes for any PvP game, not just STO, but common sense isn't really common at all. Stupidity is however.

I tried my first FvF over the weekend, it was interesting.

I'm in a Fed T3 Cruiser, which I was beginning to dislike because the turning is SO BAD, I can't imagine T4 and T5 turning on Cruisers being even slower.

Anyways, I thought, and probably still will, change to Escorts in T4 and T5, because as you can see in my signature, I'm normally Klingon, and the Escorts being faster and more nimble would do battle more like a Klingon, at least more like a BoP.

But, in the FvF, I got the occasional opponent off just the 2 of us, and my slow turning cruiser was still able to rip though the escorts fairly easily.

So, now I'm a little torn, go with the Escorts in T4 and T5 because I think I'd enjoy the play style of the escorts more, or stay with cruisers since FvF, the cruiser does tend to kick the escorts butt. This is based on very limited FvF, but I saw a pattern none the less....

Nobody likes fed.vs.fed. - whenever I go on them, there's no-one there.

cruisers play more of a support//heal role than they do a dps role.

I noticed that klink healing is surprisingly lacking compared to most of the fed premades (the good ones, not the scrub ones).

the fvsk is totally unballanced. Yes i notice all players that play klingon will now come spouting theremouths of. (probally they make such a noise as its true)

But play fvf its a much beter more balanced game where team work and skill shines through. or you can have 5 feds vs 20 klingons if a carriers involved.

The karrat mission is a joke watched yesterday while a klingon happily surrvived attack by a fed 2 cubes and 2 probes before doing there usual running away.

Theres little actuall gameplay for klingons and soon they better hope for kvk as there will be no fed ships in pvp
