My main point is that your GPU running at 80° under load is NOT A PROBLEM and no reason for hysteria. On my old 8800 I hit the high 70s. I allow my fan to run on Auto, which ratchets up the fan speed as temps increase, which is what it's supposed to do. In this very thread people have said they manually set a lower fan speed because "they don't want to hurt the fan". This mindset of not allowing their hardware to perform baffles me.
