Cryptic,

I've been RA5 with the feds since mid march, 2 characters that is, and 1 BG5 Klingon for the past 2 weeks and I've come to realize something. Why can't you set the skill point that are being rewarded to us RA5s and BGs to our ground skills only this would encourage more people to play the end game missions and daily ground missions it would also pull more into ground pvp.
As it stands the ground we mostly skip and stay away from. I have only done the cure and infected once, don't take it wrong their a great design but most of us have applied our skill points for space and we don't want to retrain just to bring up our ground skills. Besides this set back you guys have done a great job with the game. I will be here til the end.

And now let take a poll on this subject.

Would everyone do more ground the game if you could apply them skill point to your ground skills?

I would for sure.

But play fvf its a much beter more balanced game where team work and skill shines through. or you can have 5 feds vs 20 klingons if a carriers involved.

The karrat mission is a joke watched yesterday while a klingon happily surrvived attack by a fed 2 cubes and 2 probes before doing there usual running away.

Theres little actuall gameplay for klingons and soon they better hope for kvk as there will be no fed ships in pvp
Ahh, one of those guys that put alot of blame elsewhere before making sure everything you and your team is doing was correct.

Here's a tip: When the Klingons are rolling you fools, pay attention to where the rest of your "supposed team" is at, and pay particular attention to how much you guys are actually supporting each other.

Second tip: There's more to support than Focus Firing & "MOAR SPACEBAR."

In general, I'm not that impressed with Fedbear PUG fighting, but we were getting rolled by the Feds earlier today that had their s**t together. You want to know how they were doing it?

#1 - They were rolling deep. A big group, and maybe a splinter unit or two out there, composed of 2-3 players acting seperately. The big group was looking for any main body of KDF forces to fight. The small group was capping, and doing it with a good chance since they were not alone.

#2 - Lots of support actions taking place. Extend Shields, Haz Emitters, ___ Teams. When someone was in trouble, very soon they had a stack of buffs to keep them going.

THESE particular Feds did their d**mdest to help members from surviving the Klingon Alpha Strike, or at least keep them going for as long as possible. At the same time, they began trying to pick off BoPs, and working their way down.

There was no luring them away. They stayed tight, they supported each other. We could not break their Fedball. When the match was over, we gave them quite a bit of credit, they rolled us several games.

Now, as for YOU... the sooner you Feds get the mindset of fighting and supporting each other as a team, the better you'll do.

Otherwise, just go whine on the forums, or worse, whine in the middle of a PvP match like some clown did the other day for half the match... all while his team lost by a narrow margin.

I am forced to agree with my esteemed colleague.

I rarely do the ground missions not because of a lack of rewards but because compared to the slick and visually interesting space combat, away teams feel like a 5 year old game. No cover, no tactics, just stand in the open and spam the abilities, zerg and re-spawn as needed... and the immersion breaking AI's antics are the final straw...

1. send one person running though the middle of your party to shoot at you from behind... presumably to draw attention to the unbelievable lameness of the combat dynamics. "This sure ain't Mass Effect," that little voice says in your ear.

2. send a swordmaster to run up to you and blast away at you right in your face, just standing toe to toe with you and shooting to remarkably little effect with those disruptor pistols... also presumably to draw attention to the unbelievable lameness of the combat dynamics. "It really REALLY ain't Mass Effect," that little voice says in your ear again.

I rarely do the ground battles and it ain't about rewards

Funny. I played Klingon PvP for the first time this weekend and I wasn't over-powered. I had a blast and gave as good as I got.
I must say that a good,well-organized fedball is a thing of utter terror when you are the only BoP in the area and they have locked on to you. Of course the same can be said for a group of Klinks on the hunt, as the one I was with killed many Feds this weekend.
It was a blast except for the waiting on the que part, which mainlty consisted of waiting for more Fed players.

Fed vs Fed wargames has at last given ready evidence to anyone concerned that the 'PVP imbalance" is due to the amazing depth of uselessness in the Federation player pool. Not to say that every Klingon is amazing, but it's a generally safe bet that someone rolling Klingon (much less getting to a decent rank in it) has probably done a fair bit of PVP and has at least a passing interest in it. But the Feds? Oy.

When my full-on support cruiser with one and only one personal DPS ability (Beam Overload 1, look out!) comes out of the average match with more damage dealt than the entire enemy Fed team combined, something is seriously wrong. Congratulations, guys, you got massively out-DPSed by the healer. Time to come to the forums and post about how OP cruiser damage is. Obviously the problem must be in the game design...

oh you hush now, we all know that its the premades and the ventrilo users that are abusing the poor feddies and keeping them down.

no seriously, Most fed players would rather ***** and moan instead of getting better. Since FvF has come out it has become so glaringly obvious it's disgusting.
