My father was career military so we moved every 2-3 years.
Born in Maine then went to Alabama, Texas, Alaska, Indiana, Rhode Island, (back to Indiana), Arizona, finally California (and we drove every one of those moves) and have been there ever since in various towns/cities. I don't really consider any of those places my "hometown" though. I guess I have to go with "home right now" and be satisfied with that. (My birthplace, Caribou, Maine, is exactly what you think of when you think of small-town Maine (I've been back twice when my family lived in Rhode Island).)
I don't really have a hometown. I was born in Kankakee, IL, but only lived there for about a year or so. I've moved well over 30 times and have lived in 4 different countries.
I will say though that I spent 7 years in the area surrounding Paris, France. It's the closest I have to a hometown, but it's been over 2 decades since I lived there.
