I've seen this too in star clusters. I'll bug it and tell you the system if I see it again.

The planet is as bright as a star. When Postprocessing is turned Off the planet looks like Saturn.

I've seen it too in several systems. A super bright planet that looks like a gas giant yet you can somehow land on it for certain missions.

I've also had this problem a few times. It has to do with the flare settings when the Genesis program creates a planet. I know I've reported it at least twice but this is the only ticket number I've found in my vast list.

To my knowledge, it's not in a specific "system" per se ... just a specific planet which is placed within systems. I've got a view of it in a screenshot I took for the YOUR Ship thread in Ten Forward:

When flying "bright side on" into that (major) planet, it is outrageously blinding.
From space it looks more like a gas giant of the Saturn variety ("bland as butterscotch") with no visible surface features at all.

Dave,

I found this planet in "System Theta Australis 966-VX Patrol" from "B'Tran Cluster". See Ticket ID #838,608.

The extreme glare is coming from the system's sun which is directly behind me in the screenshot:
Turning Postprocessing or Bloom Off diminishes the effect:

I had one like that in the T'ONG Nebula. Unfortunately, I can not recall the Klingon mission name.... too many QGIUENHWPOQHDPOASJDNHPO ASD PODNAS D POAS in the name.

Thank god I had my Back to the Future Shades... http://www.yourprops.com/norm-446d36...281989%29.jpeg

Here are my screenshots of this. Bug Ticket Number 843275. and as a side note the mission here was borked also. It was to kill tribble colonies. 4/5 were fine, the 5th one was a structure that was un-interactable (see 3rd screenshot).

Not to get off topic, but in that mission ( and the similar "destroy weapon cache" mission ) the final structure becomes interactable after you defeat the 5th group of tribbles / weapon caches.
