B. Or by sheer reputation *cough* (patch 1.1), they will say they are nerfing x y z powers, X and Y powers will be in the Tac BoFF power pool, and Z will be Tactical Officer ONLY power. They will put it on tribble, get responses that they managed to nerf X, make Y more overpowered, and make Z gamebreaking to the max. Than release it anyways, uncaring of of what the testers concluded.
Personally I don't find science over powered. To counter FBP I use two photon torps on the nose when I see the FBP glitter or notice waves of blue comets streaking toward me I use only the torps. Sure that means I cant rely on autofire and there is a cool down but the rate of fire is higher than one torp. Sure my overall damage output drops and torps are not as effective against shields but at least I am still slugging and not hitting myself. Now SNB is a horse of a different color that I have to wait out.

Still I cannot bring myself to agree with your perception that the Devs favor science. I go by who avoids the nerf bat the longest, but I do not attribute it to the Devs I attribute it to the players griping about how their preferred ship does not melt through all competition. I see more cruisers in this game than any other ship type. If that is true then they are the most vocal community. The loudest squeaky wheel always gets the grease first, where the nail that sticks up gets hammered. Enough cruiser pilots squeal that so-in-so is over powered and so-in-so gets hammered by the nerf bat.

I have to disagree. And the first paragraph explains exactly why FBP is broken, even if you did not intend it.

Again, cruisers are a ship type. Any officer type can get in a cruiser. In a game based on buffs (abilities and debuffs), it is really the officer behind it that could be biased.

I personally play the traditional role in I have RA5 Tacs... In escorts... I have a RA5 Eng....in a cruiser, and a RA5 sci..in a sci vessel.

Don't worry, soon enough it will be everyone Game-break-beaming everyone else.

LOL I have only one toon in the, as you say,"traditional role." So it's safe to say i already made that leap of logic.

I shall confess my secret.

All beams, Disruptors. 6 BA, 2 DBB's up front. 2 EPS, 1 Plasma Manifold, one 15/15 armour console. With points in battle strategy, that's a 20% latent resist before you even start firing off buffs. Walk into a fight and start Haz1 ticking, you're at 45 and laughing your way through your first escort.

Disruptors are kings of damage. The moment you see breach pop, fire up APB on the same target and watch them die. Save your TSS tac officers for when you're grouping with guildies. Grouped up, with my consoles and deflector specced to sensors for my TSS, I have died. Solo, deflector fields pumped. Not died once yet.

Please. Come my fellow cruiser captains. Rejoice in what has been given unto us! D:
