I've seen this during several exploration missions as well. My response was, as with a previous poster "Beam down to the 'surface' of a gas giant?!?! Well, if you say so..."

We also make landfall on "lifeless" planets with flora and/or structures on them so go figure.

When I turned down bloom back to 100%, I haven't seen the problem again... so far.

That's no planet, it's a small star!

Lower your bloom.

Hi i tried the video option turn off post proccessing and it became a lot less bright can see more of the gas giant cloud detail. reducing the bloom to 0% with post proccessing on, also reduces the brightness, I haven't tested the effect of 0 bloom on other objects , but when i put the bloom back to 100% ( post proccessing on) ithe yellow gas giant gose back to being too bright

yeah, I've seen planets that are rather bright, near blindingly, but not that bright. looks like a star. even with bloom fully off, what appears to be gaseous planets are still too bright ,so hopefully something can be done to correct this.
