That is probably a really bad explanation but hopefully you get what I mean.
Thanks Boomaster and I appreciate the constructive info. Yeah, I know about that "bug" - It's not really a problem with the sheet so much as you've got your "Enable AutoComplete for cell values" turned on in your Options. With that Option activated, Excel checks the column you're in for any other value that starts with the same thing you're typing, in this case the letter S in B28 matches S=Science Vessel in B32. Mircrosoft. You're welcome. To work around you can A) Change the D31 cell formula as it sounds like you've done. B) When you type the S, next also press the [DEL] button, this will remove Excel's AutoComplete, leaving just your S, or C) Disable your AutoComplete Option.

All that said, I agree, it's annoying... It pops-up when I put in C and get C=Cruiser and have to instead press C[DEL]. I hate that too. With an earlier version of the calc I had the ships listed in Column A, so they didn't trigger the AutoComplete, but when I added the Klingon ships I needed the space.

I'll tinker and see what I can do to move the ship list out of Column B so that it doesn't trigger. I could go with a pop-up comment, but I'm concerned people might not see that... I'll play with the layout and get you an update soon.

Thanks for the reply, I honestly hadn't clicked on it being the auto-complete.

Anyone know if Bill Gates is playing a Klingon? I need to pay him a visit ..........................

LOL Boomaster. I still need to post the update I made to fix this. I've just been busy. Probably later today/tomorrow, as I'm going to see if I can add some other tid-bits at the same time.

Edit: v2.2.0 is now available, see post #47 for details.

Hey look my siggy is working! Heh. Thanks for the compliment Roggane.

I wanted also to bump my own thread/calculator. Borg BO is now available for purchase in the C-Store. She's great to have for her "uniqueness" and no doubt she's cool - But if anyone was going to spend real world cash just for her Efficient Trait, I wanted them to be able to see exactly what that will give them before they spend the monies. Take a look at my calculator and play with the numbers. Is the power gain worth it? Some will think so (I do, though I got my Borg w/Amazon purchased CE and think her non-ship-power-releated features are awesome!), others might not. This isn't a warning at all (again, I think she's great), just an FYI ... Knowledge is power, knowing is half the battle, etc.

Thanks for the calculator, it was a great help in planning my build.

I do have one question though. Do you know if fractional power values do anything (ie is it better to have 124.75 rather than 124.0056)? Sorry if this has already been discussed somewhere.

Fractional power seting bonuses do add up. Having 124.75 is better then 124.006. But in game terms the performance difference between the two is very close to zero. So close you might as well consider it to be zero.

Coming from an expert researcher/experimentor such as yourself, I'm flattered. Thanks! For those who don't know, check out Nagorak's Weapon's Power Guide -- It's amazing work!

Thanks for fielding that question there fuzun. And of course, he's right. The fractions do factor into various game formula, but will you notice having 0.7444 extra anything? It's unlikely.

Finally, I'd like to announce version 2.2.0 of the Ship Power Calculator:
- Added Shields Tab including regeneration and damage resistance stats.
- Added 125 cap in the blue game display windows so any setting that results in greater than 125 will show both the actual number (in paranthesis) and the 125 cap.
- Removed Sample Pages.
- Fixed formatting issue with some of the comments.
- Altered Layout to resolve Ship Type AutoComplete issue as reported by Boomaster.
- Changed print area so border would properly print/display.

Great job... this looks useful. As a tac - escort pilot, i'm always looking to improve my energy efficiency. Your app just proved to me that I don't need 9/9 in efficiencies (as i suspected).

Cheers,

Thanks for the Sticky Votes Boomaster and SteppenRazor. Did the new layout work for you Boom? Raz, I too had wasted skill points on the Efficiencies. Glad I could help.
