I agree with both sides of this argument re-guarding BOs. I think a compromise could be made in that "necessary" slot 3 skills - such as transfer shield strength 3 - could be available thru the skill trainer, but not the slot 4 skills. Most already are available, and adding the rest really couldn't hurt.

This would allow players to be competitive without having to take forever to either grind a new char. for the BO or spend a zillion dollars on a BO that may not even be available (especially on the Klingon side). It would also allow for unique special abilities at the highest tier.

Just a thought.

Mmm I'm not a fan of that idea personally, making all the lt commadner skills available would change the value of "career choice" and what abilities are available quite a bit. I think many players want "all of the best gear" the best bos, and the best skill setups. Thing is, what do you get once you have all that? As a company, Cryptic wants to maintain membership and having everyone have access to the best abilities means there isn't as much for players to strive towards, which means therei s less reward for playing "a lot". Thats just a bad business move at this point since there are so few "rare" things to actually obtain minus the C-store. It's a a nice idea in principle for us as then we'd all be less addicted to the game, but it's pollyanna imo.
