You zone in as a science vessel and so does the rest of your team.........

When I play my Cruiser/Tac combo and a science officer rushes into combat....

When I play my sci officer I am 100% support......restore shields...restore hull and target sub systems etc...the group does not group up or rushes off before I can offer a group .


I never seem to get any support from cruisers or escorts..I just make a brilliant cloud of gas as my core explodes.

I know many claim sci is a viable pvp class but now that you can pretty much heal your shields/hull effectively I cant seem to find a niche with science amongst pvp. I do see many still playing it and going poof quite often.

I always seem to come across a tactic used by the Klingons...2-3 will uncloak and allow the Feds to actively engage them while 2-3 remain cloaked and decloak upon my thrusters and try and send me to my maker.

Unless there is a whole lack of experience by the Klingons the battle almost always goes to them.....it seems to be a total extreme in the battles very one sided........this really is souring my pvp experience. The Feds win an encounter due to new Klingons or the Klingons totally route the Feds........I am sure there have been less extreme outcomes but none I have encountered.


I would like to see forced PVP grouping and ship type allowances....5 sci vessels is not gonna work!!!

And yes I have looked for an active PVP fed group but they are all guilded groups....guilds are not my things.....

Science ships now are more of a healing class what with transfer shield strength being buffed.
Combined with hazard emitters science team and emergency power to structure with FBP3 perhaps as well for defence. With high aux the ship is great in a proper match with a team you know or can rely on.

About the guild thing, might i suggest joining the OrganisedPvp chat channel? you can often get a group using that.

agreed. I'd like to see automatic teaming on entering a PvP so that I don't have to fly off trying to catch up with those members of the group that scatter about in all directions or full impulse to godknows where, trying to send the team invites. And sometimes ending up getting battered by the opposing team, because while they were doing tactics I was busy trying to target someone who is apparently on my side and click on "invite to team"

That made me smile... anyway, you say you don't like guilds,so why not ? just find a nice fleet and group with them, Without tactics you will have a hard time. PuG's don't tend to communicate and when they do, they stand a change. But most will not... even on my side when somebody calls the names, some deaf KDF character thinks he can solo the biggest meanest cruiser he can find...result Fed 1 -KFD 0. Find some friends, team up, join a fleet and use our tactics against us.. trust me, KDF can be beaten for sure, this evening, i lost sooooooooo badly to a fleet, i don't even want to mention it. The shame.....
