A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
not the point though, hardcore gamers have money to burn on games but we want games to be developed in a fair and constructive way, not this shady half the game on a shop and lied to on the way to getting there.
it does open the door as some one pointed out, what next on the C store

Thats what I think as well, whats next. As Dan points out, all this stuff was added to the C-Store cause people wanted an easier way to obtain it.
Ok. So why not concentrate on much more important issues than putting exclusive items in the C-Store or the Galaxy X? Open pvp zones? More raid content? Maybe get around to finishing the Klingon faction?
I want the game to succeed but it feels like the development team that is left seem to be concentrating on creating or adding things to make money from microtransactions rather than..stuff we've asked for since closed beta (better sector space, finish klingons, god how many other things..)
Not to mention the C-Store getting ships is going to kind of put players into a "caste" like system. While Galaxy X might not be as good as other ships, its still a cool looking ship. While some 12 year old can use his moms credit card to get a cool awesome ship, those of us who work for a living might not be able to afford RMT's for STO..

The team that manages the C-Store and Website are a different team (and department) than the STO Development team.
We generally make these types of things as spin offs of things we are doing to improve the game. The Galaxy X is a great example - Logan was refitting the Galaxy model based on player feedback and when it was done - it was a quick little bit to convert it to the 3 nacelle version - but it started with us wanting to fix the Galaxy model.
There are a lot of different disciplines on our development team, let alone in all the different departments and teams at Cryptic and Atari.
We do focus most of our time on adding the things you're asking for - and in Season 2 the majority of what we've worked on is the Klingon Faction.

i do hope so, we need the game developed in a positive and constructive way with less cheesy stuff like playing cards, cosmetics and content in the C store.
surely the genesis system can and should be more dynamic than what it is, exploration is what trek is mostly about. That's the priority content in my mind, with finishing the factions :-)

The funny thing about that is... despite how many "core" constructive tasks we put on programmer's schedules - they still come in after hours and work on things like Poker and mini-games - because they enjoy making fun little diversions.
The benefit is that when someone takes their own time to make this sort of stuff - we add it to the game because - why not!
So don't be too surprised to see Poker soon - I've seen the light on late in a few offices

BUT how many people are in the C-Store department and how many in the other teams?
It seems like 3:1?
Honestly, I think it makes sense to put it in the C-store. It wasn't really fair when it was tied to getting 5 new subscribers. Still leave it as a reward for referring that many people. That's great for those able to do so, but not all of us have enough friends who play MMOs or who like ST in order to get them to buy the game. You already could sort of "buy" the Galaxy X by just getting 5 subs yourself, but that was pretty pricey.
The Gal-X is still going to set you back $25, but with so many wanting it, at least it's now available. My personal feeling is forget exclusive crap. I'd rather have access to everything, and if others have access to stuff I have, then great!

do these mini games involve any c store transactions for chips etc, and i do hope the Klingon and game content to be added in season 2 far out weighs the cosmetics, C store Items and mini game content which has been said to be true.
By the way, I don't know how many of you have actually flown an Exploration Cruiser, but the turn rate on that thing is atrocious. Even after they increased the turn rate slightly it was still a frickin' flying brick. The bad turn rate on the Galaxy was a slight factor in why I switched to an escort with my Tac officer (the main reason is because it was too difficult for me to get the T3 skills I needed, so I started a new Eng character).
In my opinion you give up just about as much as you get with the Galaxy-X compared to other T5 cruisers, and maybe more. The bad turn rate of the T4 cruisers is no joke. Although you can equip dual cannons, the only way it's going to work out for you is if you run with a few Emergency Power to Dampeners, and several turn rate consoles, which is going to either cut down on consoles that add damage resistance or extra power. I think it's cool that the Galaxy-X can equip dual cannons, but having played in a Galaxy I am hard pressed to say it is overpowered. I actually tend to feel that it is more of a way to shoot yourself in the foot, and more something you'd do just to say that you did it.
By far the major reason to get the Galaxy-X is because you thought it was cool. It's still going to set you back $25 too, so it's not cheap.
