I prefer ground pvp and missions to space ones. Having a space battle element is what makes a proper sci fi mmo compared to reskined fantasy with lasers but still ground is more important to me.
Some "assault mode" pvp map would be nice. Similar to piloting ships in unreal tournament to disable base defense and then landing on ground to assassinate the enemy leader or blow up the installation.
The biggest suck with ground pvp is probably the kill 40 enemies thing that got raised from lower amount in beta. If two sides are imbalanced waiting to die 40 times can be a big turn off to people on the losing side.
id play ground missions a lot more if
1 it didnt suck balls like it does ... i mean wth look at the likes of gears of war thats the way STO ground should have been like .. and even thats not the best out there .
2 you get little or no return for a mission on the ground compaired to space missions.
3 ground missions you need to put in like 100 - 300 % more effort than space combat.
So yes when im doing the elesza expance & i enter a system 9 out of 10 times if its a ground i will warp out.
I dont play GPvP, hmmm I guess what I should really say is I dont play at all any more but I gave up ground PvP a few weeks back. Took too long to get into maps, they were never even teams, the maps are boring, there is no real reason to be in them, the combat is over simple and there is no skill involved. Oh and they are meaningless death matches 40 kills is too many and too boring especialy when its 5 vs 3 and the 3 just keep getting killed over and over.
