Sorry for the double post but I wanted to add that tonight in Commander level PvP (FvK) i was in a PUG and it was 3 v 5. All they other side did was ram over and over again. I would get rammed three times in like 30 seconds. They even managed the cloak ram combo. When I saw it was 3v5 i was looking forward to the challenge. When I commented that it was weak that to win against three guys in a PUG they had to ram repeatedly i got a "less QQ more pew pew" comment. I left it at that but they didn't do much pew pew themselves, LOL. I men literally no other tactic was used. Ram, next guy ram, next guy ram. I love a challenge but this was terrible. I tried to get into another match but only 2 Feds including me would queue up. This has to be fixed.
Ramming Speed's damage can be boosted with additional Speed Tools:
And Cryptic's known about this stacking since launch, because the stacking technique was being used to 1-shot the Crystaline Entity, which Ramming was modified.
.
It's too bad they didn't just modify the Crytalline Entity.
Good, I'm tired of the neg'vhar decloak and ram strategy. I also agree that is should result in two equally damaged or dead vessels. For game balance it should not be based off of the mass of the vessel, then it favors one class of vessel over the other and is not a balanced ability (there is no reason a cruiser should be able to ram a 100% escort and live according to the rules of game balance).
Indeed ... if a semi rammed a prelude, well ...
you get the idea.
But a Prelude ramming a semi and doing massive damage? Yeah not likely
I'm glad that Tribble has this now as only usable at 50% hull or less because even if someone purposely tries to stay at that level to use ramming speed they are at risk of exploding too. I would like to see it lower, perhaps 35% or even 25% but I'm looking at this change as them testing it before perhaps lowering the % further if the problem still exists. There are a few counters that I've seen but they are all very limited in that you might use it against one ship only to have another avoid it.
The current and best counter I've seen is Tractor Beam Rep's since it lasts a short time but affects more than one target. The only other I'm aware of is Photonic Shockwave but the range on that is a little too short to be effective unless you have lightning reactions.

I agree it should be lower and was also wondering if they were doing this in stages. It's a shame in a way because it was nice to use when you were tractor beamed by two ships at once. But the trade off of not be rammed multiple times in a minute is totally worth it IMO. The counters are a joke for any non-science vessel so ramming goes mostly unchecked. I'm definetly stoked for season 2.
