I think it has something to do with the storyline in those new PVE missions.

At this point, don't we have enough fluff and decoration here/coming? Why not focus soley on content and PvP balancing issues to make the game more engaging and fun?

No, no, no! I can live with mirror universe uniforms, but no Orion slave girl/Leia metal bikini outfit on any officers I potentially have to see in an away team!

Note the word "Faction", which would mean KDF. "Faction costume options" = Slave girl outfit for orion Female. YES!

While an Orion officer is nice, I was really hoping to have the costume on my existing officers.

Yes, my favourite part of the patch notes. Just that I couldn't find a player who has reached that rank and actually got the reward. And personally I'm hoping that the officer will also have access to a Starfleet uniform. Otherwise I'll have to use a KDF standard uniform and write a fancy story why my BO who used a normal Starfleet uniform all the time (as an alien) suddenly wears an enemy uniform.
