"If it is multiple-target, then we close as far as we can to the spawn (as an Engineer Captain, you can just Full Impulse in as close as possible, then use EPS Transfer to boost up for power levels) then launch Scramble Sensors at the toughest target.
Watch for the green bursts after the initial burst and see if any ships are not affected by Scramble and then Jam Sensors on that ship. For D'deridex Warbirds this alters slightly by Jamming that target first, then hitting Scramble (to stop a Viral Matrix backlash)."
The build includes Polarize Hull, so tractor beams are never a problem (also handy for Borg at higher levels).
I am very glad you ask the question on the D’deridex ship. I have been having quite a bit of trouble myself with them, especially in the S'harien's Swords mission. The answers that everybody was nice enough to share will go a long way in helping me to succeed in that mission.
Speaking of the S'harien's Swords mission, It is quite a challenge to take on two D’deridex class ships plus support ships and base defenses to boot. It’s like a small fleet action. My strategy has been to try luring away the larger ships away from the smaller ships and the base. A basic divide and kill tactic. I would welcome any suggestions. Thanks again.
1.) any Sci Team to get rid of the Sci debuffs.
2.) Polarize Hull to get rid of tractor beams
3.) Make sure you have plenty of power to your phasers. Since you're fighting a big Cruiser, you're going to need a lot of firepower...a lot of CONSTANT firepower... so keep your weapon power up. If you're sitting at weapon power 50, it's gonna take you all day.
Remember too, if you find yourself in trouble, or in need of some extra weapon power, you can always pop batteries.
