Cheap MMO prices are the norm a while after release.

On Amazon..
CO: $6.45
***: $4
EQ2: $10
FFXI: $10
****: $10
DnD Online: $5.69
LOTRO (Angmar): $2.86
LOTRO (Moria): $19.95
Fallen Earth: $16.96

All MMOs still running and cheap boxes (no they're not "new" but that doesn't matter as much as you think).

A low price after release means nothing except that the company would rather have people buying and playing than letting boxes rot on a shelf.

That's after a while, but not after a few months. For instance, **** and Everquest been out for years and you still find retail boxes no lower than $19.99.

Sure this current $9.99 is a promotion, but the trend of lower and lower prices isn't something to be smiling over. Its sending players the wrong message among many others that STO might not be around much longer.

And I for one really think STO has great potential.

Price drops after release are the norm, not the exception folks, get over it. A sales promotion does not equal a permanent price drop, either. And where in blue blazes are you people getting the 'message' that dropping box prices equal imminent doom for STO except possibly out of the recesses of your own imaginations? You guys are reading too much into this, as usual, and making a big to-do about nothing.

Only in your own mind. Sometimes a sale is just a sale. Mind you it's only a single retailer no less. Stop reading into something that's just not there.

Steam, Gamestop, and Best Buy are all selling STO for $19.99.

The $9.99 is simply Amazon.com having a sale.

You guys are the ones who need to lighten up, instead of openly insulting people who are genuinely concerned.

Does anyone know how the friend referral program works?

In other words, is this a nice, cheap way to get yourself the photonic BO?
