# 1 Amusing PvE vs PvP

I started leveling up a new toon a couple days ago and I've noticed that doing the nebulas (like Azure) give a lot of xp and exploration badges while pvp which requires more skill and a whole lot more waiting between matches gives very little in comparison. I just find it funny from the whole "Klingon's are pvp orientated" stance...when the PvE will get you to end game (and reward you more easily with badges) far sooner and with a lot less effort.

I agree, im doing exploration missions because it gives me badges to get the better gear, more SP, and can run through them faster.

Were as PVP gives about 100SP per match, can take ages to find a match and also some matches can last over 30 mins.

This is a direct result of one of the earliest patches to the game where they nerfed KDF progression because the Fed complained that we leveled too quickly. At the time we had almost nothing but PvP and so they nerfed the exp and kill counts required (in ground PvP) in order to slow us down.

I vaguely remember something about that nerf. I just found it funny that even now you keep hearing "klingons are pvp orientated" yet the pve content will lvl you quicker and get you better equips quicker. It's that whole lack of incentitive to do PVP (for the pvp faction) when looking at the numbers of it that just doesn't sit right in an amusing way.

Yeppers, We had really almost only pvp to do and that was leveling us too fast. Can't have that as it made higher level PvP too difficult for the feds, whom leveled to slowly at the time.
I guess we were too pvp-centric? Just shows me that they didn't have a clear idea of the KDF before and after they were added to STO in the begining.

Without Klinks, STO would indeed be a boring game, so am happy they were added. Having played since open Beta, have leveld 2 Klinks Mostly PVP and the few missions we had at open Beta got rather stale quickly having to repeat the same few missions over an over an over - well you can get the picture :p
