A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
I was just looking the report and saw the nx class on there as a ship along with the enterprise uniforms. I love the idea of the uniforms, and I'm fine with all the ships being available, I'm just courious as to what possible stats the nx can have. Having just rewatched the entire series, it should most likely be a very small cruiser. I think most likely similar to the constitution class from the original series, but with a crew in the 80's. What would be cool is if it had the actual weapon and speed restrictions of the actual class. make it a torp heavy ship that can only use turrets. I would think it would be an alternative to the original constitution for the early level of play.
On a side note, I'd love to see skins of the hand weapons from the original series and enterprise as options for you in the game. Just having them as skins for "phasers" and even the communicators would be cool to see. What does everyone else think? has any other info on the nx class been put out?
it is apparently going to be configured as an escort and, rumor has it, it will be T5
If the NX is going to be a T5 then I demand a T5 TOS Connie. Come on! Enterprise may be the most recent show but it took place decades before the Original Series. If the NX can be retrofit as a T5 so can TOS Connie.
If the nx is a t5, does that make the balsa wood pinewood derby car I made as a cub scout 20 years ago a tier 3 ship? how can it be an escourt, it spent the entire series getting housed by every alien it met, it was meant to be an exploration ship, when inspecting the columbia Archer even said while helping design the ship he didn't want a war ship.
Any rumors that it will be an Escort or Tier 5 are based on idle speculation of players.
I think the most likely status of the NX-01 will be a Tier 1 ship alongside the Miranda and the TOS Constitution. Maybe as an Escort instead of a Cruiser, but that's very speculative. (It will certainly have all the bells and whistles of a tier 1 ship, fancy stuff like shields that the NX-01 only had in an alternate timeline but is required to make it even playable in STO.)
Maybe there will be a tier 5 version, too. Maybe. Think of it not as a "modernized" tier 1 ship, but a full retro-design. Same looks, but every part 25th century tech. Certainly a stretch of believability and verisimilitude to assume someone in Starfleet would sign off a vanity project like that, but is probably possible, technology-wise. (Look at the Intrepid upgrades made by the Borg and against the Borg during the show, or Barclay's upgrades to the Enterprise when he became super-intelligent. Or the size of the Defiant and the amount of firepower Starfleet could put into that.)
Of course, there is a third alternative. It will merely be a an NPC vessel, possibly seen in a time travel episode.
I think it's likely that the "T5" version of the NX will be very similar to what Cryptic has already done with the Excelsior and Nebula - a modified version of the classic design that's available through the C-Store and requires you reach VADM before you use it. As for the classic NX - it's probably going to be a LCDR or CDR level ship (T2 or T3) that can only be purchased with EC. As an Escort, I can see it - the escorts are thus far the only ship type that don't have an "advanced" variant of a class.
I don't think Cryptic will add any more ships to the T1 tier. With the Centaur, Miranda, Shi'Kar, and TOS Constitution, they already have four ships in the tier.
