On the bright side, there are some outlets for promoting missions that are completely removed from these forums and the sto game. If people use the blog and wiki, then the self-promotions won't affect these forums, and you won't have to deal with the "spam." See sig.

you publish a mission....it goes into the system....why spam chat to get folks to try it ?
many will...just from the mission menu....lotta bored folks out there.

I would not bother 'promoting' my mission, I would get started on my next one...or do some myself.

Using the Cardinal Richelieu method of finding inappropriate content, of course, so it's all legal and above board.

Spam me your mission. I will try it. I will vote it 1 star whether it was good or not. You will be added to my ignore list. I will lose no sleep.

Hah and just think of all the possibly awesome missions you will miss due to close mindedness.

You have to select an option to become a reviewer in order to get requests to try a mission

and all the whining and moaning, and spam from it as well
