Hey I can't argue with that. And they are lower tier ships so to me, it's really no harm done. For me personally.

Though I can understand and side with the concerns of someone not wanting to have their Sovereign class blown up by and NX. While STO isn't canon, it is Star Trek and does need to rely on a bit of realism from time to time. The game dangerously borders on the line of being a nostalgia theme park far to often.

Your absolutely right.
But what they would not do is waste resources on building NEW ships of inferior designs.
And a 100-200 year old ship with even the latest technologies it could carry would never be a match for a Galaxy or Sovereign class starship.

Accept the fact people that the Connie and NX are just vanity ships, and be happy you even have them at all.

First this is an entirely different suggestion than a "car collector" comparison.

Second, I was never under the impression that Starfleet was worse of than Bajor during the occupation, nor that they lacked resources like the Maquis did. But hey as a KDF member, this is good news.:p

I am an advid star ship collector. i have nearly every ship in the game with a few extra slots for the new ones that get introduced in the future. There is nothing quite like taking my Connie out for a joy ride on a sunday after noon. Vanity or not, I love the classics.

i think that for the collectors and the nostaglia, these ships should be in game. additionally, we do need more t5+ escorts. So, an NX inspired design may fit the bill. however, I also agree that we need to start looking forward instead of back.

Hey man that's fine. That's about personal fun and I get that. I guess what I am saying is the day a connie blows up a sovereign, well actually I wouldn't know what to say. I do know that for a lot of people, the game would lose a sense of realism again adding to the theme park feel often seen in the game.

An original connie or nx should never be able to blow up a sovereign without significant help. But, an new, modern design inspired by the classic ship isn't far fetched. Sometimes you get the best results by going back to basics.

I'm perfectly fine with the NX and Connie being in the game as Starter ships.
What i am against is all these crazy yahoo's that think they should be capable of going Toe to Toe with T4 or T5 ships.
