ok, everbody knows, how ground away team operates, and further thinking on this gave me an idea...

when one reach admrial, and has atleast 5 ships, (1 from each tier, or u can buy new ones)

and when in space, have up to 4 other starships with you, esentially being a "Space" away team, which u can command like the ground....

This has been suggested before in other threads....even one I created a while back. Anyways, I agree with you that it would be nice to have this ability.

I think this is a great idea, but there should be limitations.

it would be OP to have 4 T5 ships as pets. It should have a break down like this:

5 - T1 or
4 - T2 or
3 - T3 or
2 - T4 or
1 - T5

That way there is balance. Also, no "Away team" in PVP.

I also agree with this. I think it'd make sense to allow a fleet of 3 ships. (Your toon's ship, and 2 others.) That way, you could have 1 of each ship type if you wanted. (Cruiser, Escort, and Science.) To keep things challending maybe your fleet ships would have to be 1 tier lower than you.

Or how about as your Admiral Ranks increase you can use higher tier ships for your "Space Away Team" ships for example when you are:

Rear Admiral Lower half you have 4 tier 1 ships
Rear Admiral Upper Half you have 4 tier 2 ships
Vice Admiral you have 4 tier 3 ships
Admiral you have 4 tier 4 ships
Fleet Admiral you have 4 tier 5 ships

I'm not sure if i really like that idea... Now and then it would be nice, but usually I like beeing a CAPTAIN of ONE SHIP, thats star trek for me, not flying through the galaxy with complete fleets all the time.

However, if such a system comes it should have a point system. Just "X amount of TX ships or X on rank X" sounds bad.... I mean a fleet would not be limitet to 1 tier. So give every ship a value....

Would mean (for exampe) you can take ships with an over all value of 100. A Miranda has a Value of 20, a defaint of 45... an Akira of 35 and a souverign 55. You could not take all the ships a once but you can take the souverign and the defaint OR a fleet with 2 Mirandas and a souverign or 2 Akiras and 1 miranda ect ect ect....
