Season 3's on testing, and PvP is the same. So when can we expect these much needed tweeks to PVP?

And what you got planned?

I remember some dev saying that they were going to start tying the weekly story mission into pvp a bit.

I wonder if that means a new map or 2 dropped into the rotation every week.

Or maybe.. if Klingons win 5 matches in a row. we can all warp to earth space dock and go mental blasted noobs cyboring in mirandas

Considering that the Ground Combat changes have been delayed to season 4, I don't expect much on the PvP front elsewhere.

2Jaruslothran: It seems more like "1 possible PvP map" for one of the series. Not several PvP maps.

Interviews with Mr. Stahl have indicated that Season 4 will likely be involving some sort of PvP changes. These changes may include new maps or new ways to conduct PvP. Information has been very sparse, and time tables do tend to slip, so there is no guarantee of anything at this point.

Well I always wanted to have a PvEvP mission where players could act as antagonists against one another in PvE missions, where the objective is PvP (attack or defend). But long as the new PvP is as bad as Borg Hunt, anything is welcome.

Still, they need to tell us what they are at least thinking in regards of PvP balance to calm the flames of many disgruntled players.

I can't imagine anything else able to explain things like:
* The incredibly crappy performance of the B'Rel-R, one of the worst ships in the game.
* The extreme over-proliferation of pets, especially in Cap and Hold.
* The fact that PvP until the end game is all about targeting the escort/raptor/bop and killing it repeatedly while ignoring most cruisers. At the end game it's still often that way.
* The queue system often behaving in a totally bizarre way, as has previously been documented here.

That doesn't even address normal play issues, such as auto-fire mines not always firing, that have been around for some time now. Nor does it call attention to the extreme lack of maps / modes for PvP.

I don't think the balance changes of season 1, 1.2 and 2 were fueled by players in PvE concerned that the NPC ships had a hard time with some vessels.

But PvP isn't the priority. ANd as much as the current state of the BoP saddens me, or how much I want new PvP maps and a few more balance passes. There is a very large group of players out there that isn't affected by either and Cryptic needs to spend time and effort on that, too. And changing ground combat does in fact seem like a very valuable goal. It can even help us Space PvP lowers, since the end result might be that we'll enjoy Ground PvP, too, and try to create some chars for that, too. Which basically means that we get 3 or 4 new maps to play with.

The community team is responsible to gathering the feedback on all forums. I actually trust that they do. But it's hard to gain that rust, because we don't see much of what they do on our end.
