This link gives all the details of how to set up Pidgen, a chat program to connect to STO chat from outside the game. This means you can chat while you're in parts of the game that you usually can't chat from, like the Foundry.

Since you can chat while creating missions, why not join the "FoundryChat" channel too, so we can join together to make the best missions we can make.
