I thought she was talking about an archive of the mathed shows on sto radio that apparently can't be listened to again unless you catch it live.

Very nice and well done. But it sounds a bit too young for a ''Guardian of Forever''. If only cryptic got Fred Tatasciore to do the voice for the Guardian then it would be perfect. (He voices the Hulk in the ''Hulk vs.'' movies and Tassadar in Starcraft 2). Shouldn't be too expensive to get his number

And I agree with the guys that the Iconians should be the high lvl baddy.

Good episode as always!

Oh no, by all means keep new MATHed segments as part of the regular STOked program! I'm talking about a cache of videos that are just the previous MATHed segments, listed by content, that way, if someone here on the Forums asked some questions about, say, making a decent away team, we could link them to your MATHED breakdown of the perfect away team, without having to watch the rest of that episode dedicated to things which (from their point of view) have been in the game for months or even years (thinking long-term here).

And new players who get directed to and make use of your MATHed segments, watched one after the other, would be very likely to then start watching the new full episodes as they come out.

I'm talking about a library of your sagely J-Man advice, and a using MATHed as "gateway videos" to addict new STOkers!

That's very good...

3 suggestions....

Slightly Deeper Voice (more bass)... (that demo has a slight hint of Sulu in it so ya need to go a bit deeper.)
Talk Slower, slightly longer pauses between sentances...
And More Soft Echo between pauses.

Yours is the closest impression I've heard in a long time.

I had a buddy in collage that could do it perfectly without any electronic adjustments.

It was a little creepy when ya heard it in a dark room and didn't know it was him.

Oh and loved the latest STO'ked.

I'm a BIG Trek Toy Geek (as well as books/Blueprints/videos/games...etc.)... been collecting since 1970-something, when the first Trek Enterprise plastic model and the Manual became available.

Yeah, I'm old. :p

But you'd probably kill to just see the stuff I've got boxed and cataloged in my ...

Basement...
Attic...
Garage...
Closets...
Under the bed...
As well as spread out around the apt...

I think she means cache as in archive or aggregation of the videos. Like having a list on your site with links to the Mathed segments and what topic they covered (a "one stop shop" solution).

Is this right, Katic?

Pretty much, I imagine every new MATHed segment getting added to a MATHed archive a week or so after it debuts as part of a regular STOked episode. Standalone clips of MATHed separate from the full episodes, collected for quick reference.

That way, if you want the newest MATH, you watch the episodes as they come out, but if you're new to the game, and, say, you want to figure out which Torpedos you should plan ahead to use? Then, you can watch just the MATHed segment from episode 48 without having to hear about an old Engineering report, old Captain Bios, or the hire of Jesse Heinig.

It's the best of both worlds, encouragement for people to become weekly STOkers, and the best resource for STO data gets archived for reference and posterity.

I know that whenever I hit the cap with a character, I always go back and watch as many of the MATHed episodes as I can, and plan out a full respec and Boff recruitment & training session to maximize that characters potential. I have the proper episodes bookmarked, but newbies should be able to just hit an archive without having to hunt them down or sit through old reviews/previews which may or may not apply anymore.

For example: Say I wanted to check out the tutoriol on Ship Shields, that's in Episode 36, well, I'd have to fast forward through Accolade system stuff, the out-of-game chat conversation because it's old news, and the conversations on the heals which I don't really need, I've been living with it for awhile now, just to get to the MATHed segment. It would be easier, and more likely to hook new viewers, if that MATHed segment was archived in a MATHed list separate from the rest of the episodes. Don't get me wrong, keep the full episodes archived as well, I'm talking about a "best-of MATHed" archive.

I really do like the idea. I just have no time to put such a thing together.

It's more than just snipping the beginning and end off the shows around the segment. It also means watching every old episode, coming up with a website & hosting solution, uploading every one of those newly-edited segments, creating/updating still photos to be used as icons...

The list goes on & on. I couldn't even half-ass it on my current time budget.

But as I said - if someone out there wanted to utilize my MATH content in a community project that was something along these lines, I'd endorse it and point folks to it. Long as you don't charge for it or anything.

What about lists to just the full episode link (i.e. no splicing) and mention what mathed topic is in that full link?

Alternatively, someone like me with nothing to do during winter break could compile list of which episode numbers and which time codes? (and thank goodness for show notes)

I've been meaning to put together a directory listing like that, but again... time...

If somebody beat me to it (nudge) I wouldn't fuss.

Tempting. I enjoy projects like this.

Heck, I'm just up the road too. :p
