# 1 Slow patch speed
12-09-2010, 07:16 PM
Is anyone else having a rough time downloading the patch? Ive been DLing for an hour and 15 minutes and I've got 22%. Its 7:15 PST and Im just wondering where the bottleneck is, either server side or with my ISP.

Also, does anyone know if I quit out of the patch, will it resume where it left off when I stopped, or will I have to start over?

Thanks,

Devo

I am having the exact same problem. The highest I ever got was 21% and that was after 3 hours of waiting. Then it just stopped moving. I don't know how people are saying it only took 15 minutes or so. This is driving me nuts right now!

Well I sort of understand it. Its 8pm pacific time and Im at 29%, but thats peak hours on the day that a major update was released. If people are reporting 15 minutes sometime midday eastern time then that would make sense. If someones getting fast DL speeds right now that would be of concern to me.

Glad to hear its not just me, yet sorry that youre having the same problem.

Im still interested in whether or not I can quit out of the launcher/updater and keep all my current progress.

I have quit it like 3 times and it seems to keep your progress. I noticed mine was at 2181mb left and now its at 1728mb so that is an improvement so far. Can't say if it will do the same for you but I have been lucky so far. Might just have to stop and start to chunk on through this.

I'd say that the patch server is currently in high demand, and the patch size would be significant. I will give you a tip to prepare you for the next Season though ....

Sign up to the Tribble Test Server (here). You get 'drip-feed' update as they make changes to the game on test server. Then when the new season is released you patch from the files on your own PC. Patching took me 10min and I am based in Australia.

... I know it doesn't help you now, but it is handy to know for next Season

No but thank you I was looking for that link and that is smart based on what I have seen as I rummage about the forum. I will get that set up as soon as I can.

Thanks for the info.

It is 1120 pm Eastern time and I have spent three hours trying to upload the patch, not like I have a choice. My through put test shows me hitting 4GB/sec. but this upload is barely hitting 0.1 mps needing to upload a 40 GB set of files. Sit and wait is your only choice.

Ok so 4 time now I have waited for it to get to 10% or so and then stopped it and restarted it. It is keep the data that it has patched already. For some reason once it gets to 10% it just stops working in any kind of timely matter. I am just going to keep restarting it over and over block by block til its done.
